Contact Lens Aftercare

This is an essential part of continuing good ocular health and the supply of contact lenses. Recent regulation changes in the UK mean that to continue to supply you with contact lenses, we need to see you regularly to ensure that the eyes are not being adversely affected by contact lens wear. The frequency varies from person to person, but it can not be longer that 1 year. the regulation also considers how long it is since the last standard eye examination.

A description of an Eye Examination is available. Click here.

At Contact Lens Aftercare visits, the emphasis of eye care is towards the tissues that interact with the lenses. These are the outer surfaces of the eye and the eyelids. An assessment of the fit and condition of the lenses are also made. We usually like you to wear your contact lenses to the appointment - having worn them for at least a few hours. if you are experiencing pain or other unusual symptoms, please contact the practice to confirm whether contact lenses shout be worn. The check will involve the use of painless diagnostic stains and it is advisable to bring along your spectacles for the appointment.

Aftercare costs £35 per year.

If you don't need glasses but want to change the colour of your eyes, details will appear shortly.
